AION 2 Pet Leveling: Soul Costs for Levels 1–3 (105 Souls)
A careful upgrade plan starts with the correct rules.
Quick answers
- Ordinary Global pets, level 1: 5 souls unlock the pet.
- Level 2: 25 more souls (30 total) add gliding.
- Level 3: 75 more souls (105 total); equip the pet and use Empathy Candy to transform.
- Ordinary Global pets cap at level 3. The Taiwan guide’s level-5 rules do not apply here; check other versions separately.
- Special pets have no soul levels; track ownership only.
Use Global levels
The collection controls run from 0 to 3. Set the level to match your Global client. Taiwan references that describe five levels are not a cost table for this version. Level 2 adds gliding. At level 3, equip the pet and use Empathy Candy to transform.
Check costs before committing
Ordinary Global pets need 5 souls to unlock, another 25 for level 2 and another 75 for level 3: 105 in total. Enter only unused inventory souls into the calculator. Your current level already accounts for souls spent.
Track the outcome
Use “Hide level 3 pets” to focus on unfinished entries. Export before importing another backup: importing replaces the local collection rather than merging it, so you can restore a known snapshot without accidental duplicate progress.
Read the cost as three separate steps
The cumulative totals are 5 souls for level 1, 30 for level 2 and 105 for level 3. Moving from level 1 to level 3 therefore requires 100 additional souls before inventory is subtracted. With 10 unused souls, the remaining target is 90. Starting at level 2 with 5 unused souls leaves 70. These examples apply to the named ordinary pet’s souls, not a shared currency that can automatically be exchanged between pets.
Compare achievable goals before committing
A level-2-to-3 step costs three times the level-1-to-2 step: 75 versus 25. That comparison helps you budget a session, but it does not establish which upgrade has the better stat return. Check the current in-game effect and decide whether you want a specific level-3 goal or broader collection progress. Do not spend a selection chest merely to make a progress bar look complete; first check what the chest can provide and what alternative target it could serve.
Avoid double-counting
Only enter souls that remain unused in inventory. Souls already consumed are represented by the current level and must not be entered again. If a reward has not been claimed, leave it out until it arrives. A result of zero means the entered inventory covers the chosen target; it does not level the pet for you. Recheck the level after upgrading, then update the tracker. Special ownership and Genus Analysis are outside this calculator.
Soul calculator
Ordinary pets only. 5 to unlock, then 25 and 75 more. Soul counts are not kill counts.
