Quick answers

Rifts open every 3 hours, 8 times a day, at 00:00, 03:00 … 21:00 UTC. We found no official Global schedule from NCSOFT; this pattern comes from player reports.

Each opening gives you about 10 minutes to find a portal and go through. Some sources say 15 minutes.

After you cross, you can stay on the enemy continent for one hour.

PvP is optional: if you do not flag yourself for PvP, enemy players cannot attack you. Enemy outpost guards still attack anyone who comes close.

To get home, die (you revive on your own continent) or open the map and teleport with a scroll to a travel point in your home region.

How Spacetime Rifts work

Every 3 hours, rift portals open across Atreia and stay open for about 10 minutes. Go through one and you arrive on the other faction’s continent: Asmodians reach Verteron and Elyos reach Altgard. You then have an hour to explore.

Some green side quests lead you to the portals. Interactive maps also mark where they appear. Portal positions shift within large areas, so there is no single fixed entrance.

What to do on the other side

Farm resources and monsters on the enemy continent.
Complete the green side quests found there.
Clear garrisons and sealed dungeons for Kinah, Abyss Points and enhancement stones.
Turn on PvP if you want to hunt players of the other faction.

Getting home safely

If you die, you revive on your own continent. To leave without dying, open the map (M), choose the travel menu, select your home region (Altgard for Asmodians, Verteron for Elyos) and teleport with a scroll to any travel point.

What is still unconfirmed

Official times. The UTC pattern matches every guide we checked once their local times are converted, but we found no official NCSOFT schedule. If the in-game notice disagrees, trust the game.
Portal window. Most sources say 10 minutes; one guide says 15 minutes. Arrive early.
Daylight saving. The countdown uses your device’s time zone, so clock changes are handled. Whether the server schedule itself moves with daylight saving is unknown.
Korea and Taiwan modes. The Korean and Taiwanese servers also run Abyss Rift Zone and Spacetime Rift Domination events. We have not seen these confirmed on Global, so the countdown does not include them.
